And my productivity has come to a screeching halt...and that's bad. Very, very bad.
As is typical for me writing papers/doing projects/doing homework in general....I tend to write a blog about things I've done instead of the homework at hand. No matter that my sem is due on FRIDAY and I'm only 9 pages in (and 4 of said pages were written a month ago...and have yet to be incorporated into the actual sem paper as of now)...so I have at least 11 pages to go (insert expletives).
But, despite this ever pressing 20-30 page paper of which I should be increasingly nervous about, I am instead compiling a list of things I've done instead of sem in the last few hours.
And my worst nightmare came true. I fucking missed questions on the oboe test. I'm so mad about that, I could just kick myself. Obviously, my mind was NOT with woodwind techniques, or even the oboe (my primary instrument for the last, uh, eight years...), but rather with sem. Rather, the lack of written pages for sem.
Sigh.
So, that was a downer for my day.
Tomorrow, I have to go grovel to my history professor about getting an extension on my paper, because I'm not going to turn it in on Friday whether he gives me an extension or not. I hate the word grovel, too.
Things I've done instead of sem:
*checked email compulsively.
*checked milwaukeejobs.com compulsively.
*re-read just about every email that was sent to me in the last three days, just because then I look like I'm doing something.
*sort-of read The Ballad Hunter and Last Cavalier: The Life and Times of John Avery Lomax (I guess that counts as sem stuff, though).
*read this week's College Days twice.
*checked email again
*watched the end of The Sound of Music
*took a powernap for 45 minutes
*listened to the Postal Service in my iPod (why I couldn't do this while writing sem, I don't know...)
*debated about replying to some emails that have been sitting in my inbox for anywhere between a few days and a few weeks, but decided against it.
*wrote new away messages
*sent random IMs to people
*looked at imdb.com to see what celebrities had birthdays today, and then found out what movies said celebrities were in.
*took quizzes for no reason
*read my livejournal friends' entries.
*tried to find some funny quizzies to post
*checked email again
*looked at aurorahealthcare.org for potential jobs.
*looked at CP contract and didn't sign it - yet again.
*checked yahoo mail that I never check
*went to yahoo briefcase and read through old AIM conversations that have no relevance to anything.
*fumed about the oboe test more
*debated going to addictinggames.com, but decided against it for the sake of my sem.
*checked the Brewers final score for tonight (haha! they beat Pittsburgh! mwa!)
*lent a black bra to Jen so that she could put it on someone's door.
*put up an away message plea for sprite so I can drink apple pucker and sprite in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, drunken sem writing will do me good. :)
*also will probably check email compulsively again...
*and will also check blog for snide commentary from everyone...the sad thing is that snide commentary will probably make my day. ;)
especially if i get that sprite.
