Thank the lord for the Wednesday...
Okay, so that was pretty lame, but then again this week has been pretty lame. Actually the last two weeks have been pretty lame, as well.
Anyway, so, I'm all settled in my new apartment and I LOVE IT!!! It's SO freaking cute. I have a lot more to do before I'm all settled in, but I figure I've got at least a year here, right?? (probably more). So far I don't have much along the line of furniture and I need both a couch and a futon mattress (since I have an abundance of space and actually need both a couch AND a futon as well as a bed!). There's a few other things here and there that I need, but not too much. I'm so excited about my apartment. I'm going couch hunting on Saturday afternoon, I think.
As for work, it's still blah. I can't wait until training is over. I only hope that I'll feel comfortable enough with my job, and that my trainer isn't going to completely screw me over the way she appears to be doing right now (if you want more details, see my livejournal - it's a locked entry). I still need to get comfirmation that I have Oct 28 off - because hell, it's Jamie's wedding!!!!!!!! I better get that day off. I went into my very first interview for my job needing that date off, and I told THREE people (interviewing type people), as well as my trainer and supervisor on my FIRST actual day of work about it. I seriously wouldn't have taken the job if any of the interview people had said I would have to miss the wedding - because if a company won't understand a prior commitment like a freaking wedding, than they aren't a company that I would want to work for.
I'm still adjusting to getting up at 7am every day. I'm hoping it doesn't take the full two months of training to get adjusted. I'm not sure what my hours will be after that. When I was hired, I was given the hours of 11:30-8, but they only start you on those hours so that you'll be prepared in case you actually get stuck with them. I'm hoping more for hours such as 9-5:30, or 9:30-6...MAYBE 10-6:30.
So, I really meant to go to the library today, but that didn't happen. I also meant to go grocery shopping today, but that also didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow...
My sister is talking about getting another cat for our house. I definitely can see the advantage to getting one right away (and they're thinking of getting one of those 'refugee' cats from Hurricane Katrina), but personally, I'm not ready to get another cat. Bear was MY kitty, and I miss her sooooooooooo much. :( I guess I'm kind of glad that I'm not living at home anymore...but I will be excited to see if they get a new kitty or not. Whoever thought that I would be able to convert an entire household of dog-people into cat people!!!! Hehehehe.
Anyway, I'm going to go to bed soon (gahhh, not used to saying that). I hope hope hope hope hope the cold front actually comes through tonight, since I was freaking out last night (literally!) because it was too hot to sleep. Dear Mother Nature, it's Wisconsin in October. Lay off the too-fucking-hot weather!!!!!!!!!! :)
